This resource is designed to help you develop a creative practice rooted in inquiry, context, and change. It’s based on a 14-week course developed at ITP/IMA, but can be used by anyone, anywhere and will continue to expand over time.

The site is organized through the interlinked modules below, and include examples, readings, and activities. You can browse the modules in any order, or follow along in a more linear way using the example syllabus.

Why critical?

In this context, critical means: vital, discerning, caring, urgent, with an eagerness to participate differently, cast new light on, re-examine, or course-correct.

Why experience?

Your experiences shape your worldview. Producing an experience for others might shape theirs! Through the lens of experience, all creative practice is temporal, embodied, relational, with the capacity to produce change in some way.
