I Met

Stemming from his difficulty with remembering names in English, Kawara created a daily ritual of asking people he met to write their names in his notebook. He would continue to add their name whenever he met them, some names are repeated countless times, totally non-hierarchically. This was one of several durational works that Kawara created, some lasting 30+ years.
