Prototypes
Prototypes are spaces to validate and fine-tune ideas, impulses, hunches, and more through making. Ideally, a prototype saves you time! It is an easy way to test something before you are too in too deep. To ensure it serves as a helpful research tool, challenge yourself to answer a question through your prototype.
How big should it be? Who would use it? Where would they encounter it? How do they interact with it? What happens after the interaction? What is the impact of my prototype? What needs to change in order to answer the questions I am actually curious about?
//Guiding Questions
- What is the smallest, least effortful thing that I can create to test something about my idea?
- What information can I gather through making?
- What information can I gather through thinking about what I want to make (possibly through a sketch, a user flow, a set of instructions, etc)?
