Rapid Research
If doing this with a group, the facilitator will randomly assign everyone a research topic and divide the students evenly into thematic cohorts (support groups of students with emerging themes amongst topics). For this exercise, the students will meet with their groups and work off of a shared slide deck to be used to present to the larger group. The goal is to rapidly co-create a presentation on everyone’s topic. It may be helpful for each group to choose 1 person to be the lead presenter and 1 designer.
//Recommended Format & Materials
- Step 1 (5 mins): briefly discuss what your first associations with your cohort category are.
- Step 2 (10 mins) : on your own, do basic search about your individual topic, enough to explain it to your group, and how it relates to your cohort category. Make sure to grab images or quotes about anything you find interesting.
- Step 3 (5 mins) : share-out what you discovered with your group.
- Step 4 (10 mins): prepare to present on your cohort theme and individual topics
